Catch rock music staple The Dave Matthews Band at the Comcast Center this weekend–tickets are still on sale!

Another busy summer weekend on the music front…

On Friday June 14, be sure to check out Punk forerunner, Jonathan Richman at Fete. Along with his band The Modern Lovers, Richmond is best known for “going faster miles an hour…with the radio on” singing the Massachusetts anthem “Roadrunner.” Appearing with drummer Tommy Larkins, he has a deep catalog of music to share. Tickets are $15–show at 8PM.

The WBRU Summer Concert Series continues rockin’ Waterplace Park on Friday June 14 with 2013 Rock Hunt winner Torn Shorts. Their grungy jam band sound is highlighted on their debut album Through the Mill. The show is FREE at 7:30 at Waterplace Park.

No flashy 5-star lifestyle for the next rock superstar–a source recently shared that Dave Matthews still crashes on the tour bus. We assume it’s one way to stay pure to your craft. The Dave Matthews Band is in town this weekend and tickets are still available for both shows–Saturday and Sunday night at the Comcast Center in Mansfield. Brandi Carlile, who plays Friday night at the Newport Sunset Music Series, opens the show.

Atlanta indie-punk rockers Turf War will be headlining a stacked bill at The Met in Pawtucket on Saturday June 15 along with Providence garage rock band Atlantic Thrills, Hardy Morris from Dead Confederate with Providence punks Ask The Dead opening the show. Starts at 9pm and tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.

Next Tuesday June 18, travel back to the 80’s as British new wave band The Psychedelic Furs will be performing at The Fete Ballroom. Providence rockers Hope Anchor are also on the bill. Show starts at 8:30 and tickets are $29.50.
